Over recent years there has been much confusion about among Belle Isle's many institutions: the Casino. this is not a gambling casino, but instead uses the old sense of the saying, an area for "public entertainments." This Casino has been used for this function since the original structure was built in the 1880s, being a gathering location for Detroiters for generations.
The first building to be called the Casino was internal 1887, as Belle Isle was being changed into a municipal park. It was constructed to support events, bazaars, and things of that nature, which its successor was made website to do as well. The original building burnt down during the early 1900s.
The original building was replaced in 1907 with a building produced by the firm of Van Leyen and Schilling. This building has continued to offer its function successfully for more than 10 years now, as well as future seems to be secure well to the future, in spite of the problems that Belle Isle has already established in recent years.
